Principal's Message
A Message from Our Principal, Mrs. Sara McAvoy
Welcome to Oraze Elementary – Home of Camp Bearcat for 2026–27!
I am thrilled to welcome our families to another “O’mazing” school year at Oraze Elementary! This year, we are heading into the great outdoors together as Camp Bearcat, where every day is an opportunity to learn, grow, explore, and become a CHAMPION for LIFE!
At Oraze, everything we do is guided by our mission to provide a safe and caring environment where all students can grow as CHAMPIONS in mind, body, and spirit. Our vision inspires us to help every child be the best they can be, reach their greatest potential, and develop the character, confidence, and skills they need to be successful—not just in school, but throughout life.
At Camp Bearcat, we believe every student has something special to discover. We encourage our Bearcats to explore their passions, try new things, and get involved in activities that spark curiosity and excitement. At the same time, we challenge them to stay focused on their academic journey, setting goals, overcoming challenges, and taking pride in their growth. Just like at camp, sometimes the trail is easy and sometimes it gets a little tough—but with perseverance, teamwork, and a positive mindset, our Bearcats can tackle any challenge that comes their way.
Just as important, we believe that people matter. Kindness, respect, responsibility, and connection are at the heart of our Camp Bearcat community. As students R.O.A.R. on campus, strong character is woven into our daily routines through the Positivity Project and the Other People Mindset. We celebrate the unique strengths and backgrounds that make Oraze such a special place, while teaching our Bearcats that looking out for others is just as important as taking care of ourselves.
Our incredible Bearcat staff is committed to knowing, supporting, and believing in every child. We are grateful for the partnership of our families and know that when school and home work together, our students have the greatest opportunity to thrive.
So, grab your backpack, lace up your hiking boots, and get ready for an O’mazing adventure! This year, we will explore new trails, conquer challenges, build friendships, celebrate accomplishments, and create memories that will last a lifetime. Together, we will help our Bearcats discover their strengths, find their courage, and become the very best versions of themselves.
Welcome to Camp Bearcat, Bearcats! Let’s make this an unforgettable adventure and continue Building Champions for Life!
Smiles,
Camp Director Mrs. McAvoy
