Oraze Elementary School

All 5th and 6th grade students have the option of learning an individual instrument in Band or Orchestra or joining Choir for their music instruction. All classes meet twice a week for 45 minutes. If students choose to be in Band or Orchestra, they can check out one instrument from the school (based on availability), rent one from a local music store, or bring one from home if it is functional. 

The instruments offered in Orchestra are the Violin, Viola, Cello, or Double Bass. 

The instruments in Band are the Trumpet, Trombone, Tuba, Clarinet, Flute, Saxophone, and Percussion, which includes Bell Set and Snare Drum.

Students are encouraged and expected to practice their instruments at home. Instrumental music students also perform at least twice a year at our winter and spring concerts; and test once a year on a scale, and a short musical excerpt for the Fundamental Skills Test.
