Blooming Buddies

Advisor: Mrs. Armanino

4th grade students learn the art of floral design and foundational skills of this art. Students tour an ag business, learn how to wire and tape, tie bows, and learn to make floral crafts. Students work in the school garden and learn about growing flowers and the appreciation of landscape design.

 

Art Guild

Advisor: Mrs. Aguirre

Grade 4-6 students learn about different artists, artistic movements, and explore different artistic mediums while creating their own works of art.

 

STEAM

Advisor: Mrs. Salem

4th-6th grade students learn what STEAM is and how it applies to our world. Students engage in hands-on activities that combine Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math.

 

Multicultural Club

Advisor: Mr. Novella and Mrs. Aguilar

4th-6th grade students learn about different cultures around the world and create projects to display at Mac N’ Kids events.

 

Bearcat Boogie

Advisor: Mrs. Elia, Mrs. McEowen and Mrs. Departee

2nd-3rd grade students learn basic dance skills and technique.

 

Readers Theater

Club Advisor: Ms. Lindsey

Students will have the opportunity to perform with their classmates by reading scripts created from grade-level books or stories. Not only does Readers Theater increase reading motivation, but it also helps to create confidence and opportunities for cooperative learning. Students will be offered an introduction to theater and learn how to interact and perform with a script. 

 

Oraze Book Cafe

Club Advisor: Mrs. Darter

Students are invited by their teacher to have a literary cafe experience. Students read literature, practice fluency, and participate in literature discussions with their peers while enjoying a small beverage and snack. In addition, they play games or solve puzzles to build knowledge of prefixes and suffixes.

 

Photo Club

Club Advisor: Mr. Schmidt and Ms. Boquiren

Sixth grade students will have the opportunity to channel their creative side through photography. Some of the students’ responsibilities as a member is to take pictures at Oraze events, create a yearbook page, attend meetings where we learn new photography skills, and more! The skills they learn in our club will enhance their creativity, sense of community and belonging, responsibility, and promote teamwork.
